Critical Response Process [Reflecting-thoughts]

The Power of Step 2- Letting go of individualism & embracing collective wisdom

Key Context:

Within CRP, Step 2 is the moment inside the feedback session that the ARTIST/CREATOR get’s to ask their AUDIENCE/PARTICIPANTS questions about their own work. At this moment the AUDIENCE/PARTICIPANTS are charged with the responsibility of answering those questions and not veering off into other topics or self-indulging comments. (It’s truly my favorite step regardless of the role I am playing inside of CRP.)

Key Excerpts:

“What is our collective intention inside our collective community resistance? I wonder… maybe, as a whole, as a whole being, as a whole people who are actively working towards a world rooted in more love, more empathy, more justice, I wonder if we are not asking ourselves and one another enough Step 2s?… Are we walking with collective intention? Are we walking with collective wisdom in place? Are we walking as a whole with a purpose, and a mission, and an intention? Are we in a place of offering our collective wisdom towards answering a hope or a wish of the whole? A step 2 at least opens up the opportunity to find out more about that intention together. It’s an invitation to be on a mission, a collective mission with an intention TOGETHER. It’s an invitation to offer collective wisdom; and I think that is very beautiful. It’s a practice. A practice in being generous and a practice in moving in collective intention and wisdom.”
